Pastor Larry Bowie has been a devoted member of Bibleway Church for over 50 years. His journey of faith began on March 14, 1973, when he was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit at Bibleway House of Prayer in Memphis, TN. From that day forward, he dedicated his life to serving God and the church he dearly loves.
Over the years, Pastor Bowie served faithfully in many roles. He began as a tenor singer in the church choir and played drums during worship services for several years. In 1997, Pastor Bowie and his wife, Lady Linda Bowie, transferred their membership from Bibleway House of Prayer Memphis to Bibleway Outreach Fellowship in Byhalia, Mississippi, continuing their deep commitment to the ministry.
At Bibleway Outreach Fellowship, under the leadership of Bishop Renzil Barringer, Pastor Bowie was appointed to the office of Deacon.
In January 1999, he answered God’s call to ministry and preached his first sermon in February of that year. His dedication and faithfulness led him to serve as an Associate Minister until 2016.
In September 2016, Bishop Barringer released him to serve at Bibleway House of Prayer in Holly Springs, one of the ministry's longest-standing branches. Pastor Bowie led the church there for six and a half fruitful years, helping the ministry grow spiritually and numerically.
In April 2023, following the passing of Bishop Barringer, Pastor Bowie was called back to lead the ministry in Byhalia. Recognizing his years of faithful service and love for the church, the congregation installed him as Senior Pastor on April 1, 2023.
Throughout his life, Pastor Larry Bowie has remained a humble and loyal servant to Bibleway Church. His unwavering love for the ministry and his lifelong service are a testimony to his commitment to God's work and to the church family he has cherished for decades.
